Some photography assignments are special. Others stay with you long after the last photo has been taken.

Behind the scenes with André Audet, photographer.

Being entrusted with documenting 1755’s five-show residency at Moncton’s Capitol Theatre was an incredible honour. Over the course of five performances, I had the opportunity to photograph a band whose music and cultural significance run deep in New Brunswick and well beyond.

Formed in the 1970s, 1755 became one of the defining groups in modern Acadian music, helping generations of Acadians celebrate their language, culture and identity through a distinctive blend of folk, country and rock. Nearly five decades later, their songs continue to resonate across generations. The Capitol residency also brought special guests on stage throughout the week, adding their own contributions to these memorable performances.

There was something particularly meaningful about seeing these shows unfold in such an iconic venue, night after night, with thousands of people coming together to celebrate the music. Each performance had its own energy, its own moments, and its own memories.

Photographing this residency was a privilege I won't soon forget. For now, here are a few images from those five nights. There is much more to this story, and I look forward to sharing more of it in time.
