In July, I spent an evening at the cliffs in Bas Cap-Pelé, part of the municipality of Cap-Acadie here in New Brunswick. The timing lined up with high tide, and the waves were hitting the rocks hard. Despite the cooler-than-expected weather for July, the sunset was totally worth it!

Along with the cliffside shots, I flew the drone for a few wider views. You’ll see sailboats passing in front of the sunset, the Bas Cap-Pelé wharf, and even the Sandy Beach campground from above.
Cap-Acadie and Cap-Pelé
Cap-Acadie is a coastal municipality in southeastern New Brunswick, made up of Cap-Pelé and Beaubassin East. It’s known for its fishing wharves, sandy beaches, and strong Acadian roots.
It's a really great location for Seascape photography in New Brunswick. The cliffs don’t just drop into the water... they’ve got this mix of rugged rock and softer edges that catch the light differently every time.
Behind the Scenes
I was out there with my girlfriend, who stuck it out the whole time and even managed to sneak a few shots of me while I was working! Check out these behind-the-scenes images brought to you by Liane!
Gear used for this shoot: Canon EOS R6 Mark II, DJI Mavic 4 Pro, EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS II, and Sigma 14-24 f/2.8.
